The town of Le Creusot, located in the heart of the Burgundy wine region, is famous for the Schneider dynasty and for the huge steel and armaments works which the family owned. The 1980's saw the disappearance in demand for large forgings and castings and led to the break up of this great industrial entity. But 5 years ago marked a remarkable transformation of fortunes for heavy industry in this district with the birth of the privately-owned company SFAR.

Blessed with this remarkable industrial heritage, SFAR is able to manufacture on one site a range of critical components for the global Cement and Minerals industry. STI has been closely involved with SFAR's transformation into a specialist global supplier since 2004, and is priviliged to have been chosen to further help with SFAR's entry into new global markets.
